Fire Department Response to Electric Vehicle Fires

The fire service is challenged with a never-ending, changing fire environment. We know that many many in the fire service are responding to events involving electric vehicles. The Safety, Health and Survival Section along with the Fire and Life Safety Section of the IAFC has been collaborating with industry experts to provide a bulletin for fire service response. We know that many manufacturers have resources readily available, and this one-page bulletin is intended to guide our pre-response, response and post-event responses to electrical vehicle fires.

Our hope is that this is the first of many bulletins aimed at providing resources to our membership for the evolving work environment of our firefighters.
