The Federal & Military Fire Services Section of the IAFC strives to meet current and future challenges and act as a strong voice for federal fire and emergency personnel worldwide. Their mission is to promote and support regulations and legislation that will result in greater safety to life and property and to better conditions for fire and emergency services personnel.
The organization will provide federal and military fire and emergency services personnel with state-of-the-art technology, training, education, and information so as to reduce the loss of life and property from fire safety hazards in communities.
Call for Board Candidates is Open
There are four openings for the 2025 election cycle:
- Federal Military Fire Services Director Army Representative
- Federal Military Fire Services Director Air Force Representative
- Federal Military Fire Services Director Space Force Representative
- Federal Military Fire Services Director Bureau of Land Management (BLM) (Department of the Interior or US Forest Service)
Each open Board position carries a two-year term of office. To qualify, candidates must declare their candidacy by 5 PM ET on February 13, 2025. To do so, please submit the following (via email) to the Federal Military Fire Services Nomination Committee:
- Candidate bio and content you want to have posted on the EVMS Election web page (not to exceed 300 words),
- Candidate picture
Submissions should be emailed directly to the Nomination Committee Chair, Todd Canale tcanale@gmail.com, ;and the Section Staff Liaison, Kevin McGee, kmcgee@iafc.org.
Any Federal Military Fire Services member from the Army, Air Force, Space Force or BLM (Department of Interior or US Forest Service) interested in serving on the Federal Military Fire Services Section Board must be a member in good standing with both the IAFC and the Federal Military Fire Services Section.
