Training and Education Development Committee – Created FRI 2023 – August 1, 2023
The PURPOSE of the Training and Education Development (TED) committee
is to advance professional training and education for rising fire officers and chief
fire executives and to advise the IAFC Board of Directors on trends in fire and emergency services training and education, certification, and standards of learning.
The SCOPE of the TED committee is to work in collaboration with the IAFC Training and Education Director to offer properly approved IAFC education and training programs through face-to-face, online, and blended learning opportunities.
The DUTY of the TED committee is to:
- Champion IAFC training and education programs and the IAFC Board’s Strategic Initiatives Plan (SIP), Goal 2 – Education.
- Provide geographic representation and/or subject matter perspective on the IAFC training and education portfolio and delivery methods.
- Provide recommendations on development and/or re-development of IAFC training and education programs.
- Serve as the IAFC training and education curriculum review panel and make recommendations to the IAFC Training and Education Director and associated education partners.
- Serve as the capstone review panel for IAFC training and education programs that require capstone project presentations for certification or credit.
- Serve as the Fire-Rescue International (FRI) general education program review panel and assist the IAFC Training and Education Director in the development and execution of general education program.
- Assist the IAFC Training and Education Director and associated education partners in promoting IAFC training and education programs.
