IAFC Offers Tax Reform Comments
May 26, 2016 - The IAFC submitted comments on tax reform to the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means. In these comments, the IAFC suggested making changes to allow volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel to recieve nominal incentives without being considered taxable income and to use the tax code to incentivize property owners to install fire sprinkler systems in their propoerties. Fire Safe Cigarette Law Reduces Home Fires in MA
February 13, 2014 - A recent study by the American Journal of Public Health found that a law requiring the sale of fire safe cigarettes has led to a 28% decrease in home fires caused by cigarettes from 2004-2010.

IAFC Recommends Congress Enact Fire Sprinkler Legislation
