The IAFC’s Volunteer and Combination Officers Section is excited to announce a partnership with Tim Shurr to deliver his “Mesmerizing Leadership” online training series. The fire service provides valuable training resources for the “hard skills” of the profession. Yet, fire chiefs often desire “soft skills” training for leading in uncertain times like now. Managing personality types, improving communication among different generations, and instilling values-based behavior within fire departments are just some of the topics included in the virtual “Mesmerizing Leadership” program.
These programs will be held online over a three-month period (a series of six one-hour classes every two weeks) and include lecture, Q&A, quizzes, review materials, and a certificate of completion.
The timeline for the classes is as follows:
- Spring Class: April 7 – June 23, 2020
- Summer Class: June 2 – August 25, 2020
- Fall Class: September 10 – November 19, 2020
