On April 4, the Fire and Life Safety Section announced the opening of the nomination period for the annual election for the board of directors. There were three open seats: one for the international director with a two-year term and two for at-large board members with three-year terms.
By the deadline of May 1, we received approved paperwork for one candidate for international director and two candidates for at-large board member. Therefore, the 2011 election is uncontested and we’re pleased to report that the following members will be sworn in at Fire-Rescue International:
- Director Alan Perdue, Guilford County (N.C.) Emergency Services: international director through 2013
- Mr. Dan Finnegan, Industry Affairs Manager for Siemens Fire in Dundee, Ill.: at-large board member through 2014
- State Fire Marshal Adolf Zubia, South Carolina Division of Fire & Life Safety: at-large board member through 2014
Congratulations to these section members; they’ll be sworn in at the annual section meeting at Fire-Rescue International in Atlanta on Friday, Aug. 26.
