re: FY 2019 Dues Adjustment
Dear IAFC Members,
We are writing to inform you about an important action the IAFC Board of Directors took during our meetings on December 6-7 which affects every member.
The Board prides itself in adopting balanced budgets each year. The association’s budgeting and spending are carefully tracked and strategically administered to ensure that the IAFC remains best positioned to achieve success and efficiencies on our mission to LEAD, EDUCATE and SERVE you and the fire and emergency service worldwide.
According to the IAFC Constitution and Bylaws (Section 1, Subsection 1), the Board may adjust annual dues “by an amount not to exceed the change in the Consumer Price Index (All Urban Consumers) since the last dues adjustment.”
The last dues adjustment was made in 2013. With each successive budget, the Board has worked with staff to diversify the association’s revenues to provide more financial stability and to minimize the need for dues increases. During the past five years, we’ve been able to expand greatly programs and services offered to our members and without any increase in dues.
To continue to provide the level of programs and services you have come to expect and, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, the Board voted unanimously to increase dues by approximately 3.2% across all membership types. The increases range from $2.50 to $6.00 per year, depending on your membership type.
We thank you for your membership and your leadership in your departments and communities. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us or your section/division representative on the Board of Directors.
Sincerely,
Fire Chief Dan Eggleston, EFO, CFO, CMO
President and Chairman of the Board
Fire Chief Richard R. Carrizzo, CFO
Treasurer
