FireRescue GPO Adds New Fire Apparatus Contracts

FireRescue GPO has been serving members of the IAFC for over a decade, providing group, or cooperative procurement, solutions for a variety of goods and services used in the fire service.

This program, free to IAFC members, provides fire departments and other government entities access to cooperative procurement contracts with national pricing. Departments save time by piggy-backing off these publicly solicited contracts rather than completing their own RFP process. Pricing is often better than the departments would obtain on their own and procurement staff time is also reduced.

Founded by the Western Division of the IAFC, the program grew to a national level through partnerships with the IAFC and all the U.S. divisions and state fire chiefs associations. The FireRescue GPO Advisory Council, made up of representatives from the IAFC, the IAFC divisions and state fire chiefs associations, also guides FireRescue GPO.

For years, the Council and many FireRescue GPO members have asked for fire apparatus contracts. “This is exciting news, because the fire service has worked toward this for a long time. We’ve needed a more cost-effective approach to apparatus purchasing, and the FireRescue GPO contracts are a viable solution. To know FireRescue GPO understood our needs and worked to find options for all members speaks volumes,” says Chief Richard Carrizzo, Southern Platte Fire Protection District.

A total of five new fire apparatus contracts have been made available as the result of a public RFP process. These contracts provide FireRescue GPO members across the country with a full range of fire apparatus and brush trucks. Members have the option to purchase rigs from a variety of quality, well-known manufacturers they know and trust, all while saving time and money.

FireRescue GPO is always looking to diversify its solutions and the addition of these contracts will enable them to continue helping their members in an impactful way. Specific vendor, product and contract information is available through the FireRescue GPO website. For more information you can also call 877-329-8847 or email CustomerService@NPPgov.com.
