Attention Symposium Attendees,
No doubt we are all excited about attending the upcoming 2024 Symposium in the Sun (SITS). We had received word after Hurricane Helene that the Hilton Clearwater Beach is open for business as well as the overflow hotels and most of the restaurants in the area.
Now Hurricane Milton, is forecasted to make landfall in the area. The VCOS Board of Directors and SITS planning committee are keeping a close eye on the events and will be in close coordination with the Hilton Hotel staff, as well as the IAFC Board and staff and local officials. We are currently moving ahead as planned and will keep all of our members informed as soon as we know the outcome of Milton.
In the meantime, please keep all of the communities effected by both hurricanes in your thoughts and prayers, and especially all of the first responders who are working tirelessly in search and rescue/ recovery efforts. With disasters of this magnitude, no doubt we all know someone who has been affected or is helping out.
