IAFC Terrorism and Homeland Security Committee Releases 2024-2026 Strategic Plan

The IAFC Terrorism and Homeland Security (T&HS) Committee released a strategic plan to guide its efforts through 2026. Based on the IAFC’s Strategic Initiative Plan, the T&HS Committee’s Strategic Plan will direct the committee to develop resources along the mission areas of Prevent/Protect; Mitigate; Response; Recovery; Resilience; and Imagination.

The plan also includes annexes to help fire departments to plan for:

Cyber Attacks, Digital Upheaval, and Artificial Intelligence (Visible to Members Only)
Response to Complex, Coordinated, Terror Attacks and Incidents of Fire and Smoke Used as a Weapon (Visible to Members Only)
Comprehensive Homeland Security and Resiliency - Inclusion and Access to All Communities Strategy to Support Equity and Inclusion - Preparedness in An All-Hazards World.

IAFC members are encouraged to review the strategic plan and download the annexes for their use.

Fire Chief Sam Greif (Ret.) is the chair of the IAFC’s Terrorism and Homeland Security Committee and the Deputy City Manager of Plano, Texas. He formerly served as the fire chief of the Plano Fire-Rescue department.
