The International Association of Fire Chiefs is proud to share this important announcement from Lion Protects and recognizes that this represents a new chapter in the long partnership the IAFC has had with
Lion. The International Fellowship Program (IFP) started in 2016 and has worked with 14 Fire
Departments to provide a host environment for the Fellowship Program. During the six-month program,
the Saudi Aramco Firefighters work alongside their American counterparts as equal firefighters to learn,
participate, and share new skills and practices. The goal of the IFP is to expose the Saudi Aramco
firefighters to the American fire service and provide experience for these future leaders to take back
and help shape the future culture of their department. The program helps to foster the Saudi Aramco
Fire Protection motto of " Proud to be a Firefighter."
This program has made such an impact that it is now required as part of the promotional process within
the Saudi Aramco Fire Protection Department. While here, the fellows act as full crew members and
have even been recognized in some departments for life-saving actions. " This program is making a
difference every day within the Saudi Aramco Fire Protection Department and continues to be one of
the premier programs Saudi Aramco does," says John Morris, Program Manager for the International
Fellowship program.
The IAFC would like to thank Lion again for their IFP support and looks forward to working with them on
other projects to support international collaboration among the fire service.
