The IAFC is working with the United States Fire Administration and the National Alliance for Public Safety GIS to develop a Fire and EMS Multiagency Preparedness and Operations Guide that will outline best practices and provide the guidance and tools necessary for fire, EMS, and other disciplines to successfully coordinate their efforts.
As an initial step in this project, we are collecting example mutual aid agreements and MOUs/MOAs from our members. These documents will allow us to better understand how fire and EMS state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) agencies are currently operating with partner agencies such as law enforcement, emergency management, public health, federal responders, port authorities (e.g., airports and ports), etc. We are also conducting a brief (five minutes or less) survey on our members’ current involvement in and understanding of these practices.
We ask that you please share any relevant documents your agency has and complete the brief feedback form on your agency’s mutual aid to help inform best practices and assist us in developing this resource for the entire public safety community.
