Like all of you, I was truly shocked and saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of our longtime friend and colleague Chief Bobby Halton.
Bobby was a longtime member of the IAFC, and was a respected fixture in fire service training and education. He was a tireless advocate for firefighters and was always laser-focused on training as the backbone of the mission critical services we provide to our communities. In his writings, Bobby challenged us to have the tough conversations that need to be had, and he was never shy with his opinion. He was resolved, a man of conviction, and he made all of us better leaders. His legacy will live on in all of us.
On behalf of the IAFC Board and our IAFC staff, I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to Bobby’s family and our colleagues at
Fire Engineering and
FDIC International.
Respectfully,
Chief Donna Black
President and Chair
IAFC Board of Directors
