It’s no secret that there is a shortage of volunteer firefighters in departments nationwide. As a result, the IAFC is seeking ways it can assist in helping agencies create and maintain work environments that are welcoming to all, treat people fairly, and reflect the characteristics of their community to improve volunteer recruitment and retention. Responses to this survey, which is being conducted by an outside consultant, will enable the IAFC to create and offer effective tools, techniques, information, and recommendations to achieve this outcome.
We are asking that you:
- Take the 10-minute survey.
- Forward this survey to your volunteer members and ask them to take the survey as well. Obtaining direct input from volunteer firefighters is essential.
This survey should take about 10 minutes of your time. Your responses are voluntary and will be completely confidential. No one will be able to identify either you as an individual or your department; all responses will be compiled and analyzed as a group. We ask that you submit the survey no later than
Friday, February 4, 2022.
Thank you in advance for your time. If you have questions about the study, please contact Dr. Pat Lynch, the principal investigator for this project, or Kaitlin Lutz, IAFC Program Manager for Volunteer Workforce Solutions.
