WUI 2021 is Going Virtual

The IAFC has made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person 2021 Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Conference, scheduled for November 14-16, 2021, at the Peppermill Resort in Reno, Nevada.

This decision was not made hastily. Recognizing the long and ongoing wildland fire season and the impact on fire personnel schedules in addition to acting out of an abundance of caution for the safety and health of our attendees, exhibitors, and staff, the IAFC made a move to shift the event to #VirtualWUI21.

The WUI Conference program planning committee, the Wildland Fire Policy Committee and the IAFC staff have spent months planning for this event and are disappointed not to be able to bring everyone together in person again this year. The importance and value of this conference have not been lost; the virtual WUI event will be held November 15-16, 2021, and will offer the same great education as well as virtual networking opportunities.

#VirtualWUI21 will be free of charge to attendees thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. More details about #VirtualWUI21 will be shared via email, social media, and the WUI website as they are developed.
