The IAFC needs your help in measuring the effects of state and local government social distancing orders on local fire and EMS department budgets, including the long-term implications on resources and staffing.
IAFC President and Chairman of the Board, Chief Gary Ludwig, created an
Economic Crisis Task Force to help fire and EMS chiefs plan and prepare for the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Task force chair, Chief Steve Pegram, and task force members have developed a survey to obtain data about the financial effects of the pandemic. This information will assist the IAFC's efforts to educate the Administration and Congress about the economic assistance needed to help fire and EMS departments maintain operations during this economic slowdown.
The IAFC has developed a dashboard to aggregate the results of this survey. It will be used to educate federal decisionmakers about the challenges facing local fire and EMS departments. Information entered will not be identifiable by individual agencies.
