I did not expect it to be so valuable for my boss and me to just be immersed in thinking about our wildfire issues for a week without the typical distractions at home. The FDX coordinators picked a great group of departments to attend.
There are many communities exposed to catastrophic wildfire risks. Learning about risk reduction strategies from other Fire Departments selected by the IAFC for this FDX will help us provide a higher level of service for the City of Flagstaff.
This was one of the most valuable work trips I have been on. Each day was filled with meaningful activities and interaction, I did not feel there was any wasted time.
