The IAFC’s Workforce Solutions program through a FEMA SAFER grant has developed a comprehensive guide for volunteer, combination and career departments to run a fire camp to give prospective recruits a taste of life in the fire service.
The guide can be used as a whole, or in part to help departments develop all aspects of their fire camp from scratch, including program development, staffing, required equipment, budgeting, insurance, marketing, facilities, health & safety and more.
