Programs & Initiatives

IAFC manages a number of programs that directly impact our member's roles as leaders. This is achieved by providing tools and resources that fortify response, support education and prevention, enhance training and strengthen efforts to improve responder health and safety. IAFC actively works with members, stakeholders and community partners to deliver high quality programs.

Featured Programs & Initiatives

Ready, Set, Go!

The Ready, Set, Go! Program utilizes firefighters to teach individuals who live in high risk wildfire areas and the wildland-urban-interface (WUI) how to best prepare themselves and their properties against fire threats.  Ready, Set, Go! works in complimentary and collaborative fashion with Firewise and other existing wildland fire public education efforts.  It amplifies their messages to individuals to better achieve the common goal we all share of fire-adapted communities.

Hydrogen Response Considerations Training

The Hydrogen Response Consideration training is provided as a free on-line learning program for firefighters to teach individuals the hazards associated with hydrogen in their community. The Electronic Learning Community (ELC) platform is the future of training for responders.  The ELC has been created to provide a flexible and inexpensive means for emergency responders to receive high-quality training. While the ELC is open to all responders, a major goal of this initiative is to create a training program that can reach the underserved volunteer response community who often lack the resources of time and money that are necessary to obtain timely training.
