Professional Development Committee

The Professional Development Committee provides strategic direction in professional development to meet the fire and emergency services leadership challenges of today and tomorrow and to make the IAFC the national focus in the development of effective and successful incumbent and future chief fire officers. 

Projects

The Committee focuses on projects and activities consistent with the planned, progressive career-long process of education, training, self-development and experience. 

In 2010, the Committee published the 2nd Edition of the Officer Development Handbook. Currently, the Committee is working on the revision to NPFA 1021.
